Darts Legend Phil Taylor Makes Comeback!

Darts legend Phil Taylor has announced his comeback.

More than eight years after retiring from the major professional tour, the 16-time world champion will compete in a tournament again, participating in the International Pairs Tournament of the MODUS Super Series at the end of November.

The 66-year-old will receive prominent support in the team event. He will team up with two-time world champion Adrian Lewis to form the English squad; together, they won the World Cup of Darts for England four times between 2012 and 2016.

Unmatched Record of Success

"I've often been asked if I would ever return. If so, there had to be a special reason. Adrian is one of the few people for whom I would pick up my darts again," Taylor said on the streaming service Pluto.TV, which will broadcast the tournament from November 23 to 28.

"We know what it takes to be successful as a duo, and I'm looking forward to seeing what we can achieve together," Lewis commented.

Taylor's track record remains unmatched to this day. Between 1990 and 2013, he became world champion 16 times. For years, "The Power" dominated the scene, amassing over 200 tournament victories. "I've won more than anyone else," Taylor stated in an Instagram video he released to mark his comeback.

Following his final defeat to Rob Cross at the 2018 World Championship, the Englishman withdrew from the main tour. He later competed in tournaments for older professionals before concluding his career there as well at the end of 2024.
