Done Deal! Super Bowl Champion Sold for Record Price
The deal was officially approved on Wednesday. It's a new record sum.
Nothing stands in the way of the record sale of Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks anymore!
On Wednesday, the sale to the investor group led by Indian-born entrepreneur Vinod Khosla was unanimously approved by NFL owners.
According to several media reports, Khosla and Co. are expected to pay a record sum of 9.612 billion US dollars for it. Three years ago, the Washington Commanders were sold for 6.05 billion dollars.
Proceeds to be Donated
"How often do you get the opportunity to buy a franchise that has just won the Super Bowl? That's why we are incredibly happy and humbled by this gift," says Khosla.
"We are honored to be entrusted as the next custodians of the Seattle Seahawks," it continues. The deal is officially done once the entrepreneur has divested his shares in the San Francisco 49ers.
The entire amount of money acquired from the sale is to be donated to charity.
