The Kansas City Chiefs ended Week 1 of the NFL season with a clear victory.

They defeated the Denver Broncos 31-10 on Tuesday night.

Patrick Mahomes delivered a special performance. He recorded 184 yards and two touchdown passes, in addition to his longest touchdown run in a regular season game. It was only about nine months ago that he sustained a serious knee injury.

"If I were nervous about anything, it would be about taking a hit to my knee. But I just wanted to play. I put in so much rehab and work to get myself into this position. I just wanted to play. That's what you do it for," he said after the game.

Newcomer Kenneth Walker (173 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns) and Travis Kelce (59 yards) also stood out. The latter is now second on the all-time NFL tight end leaderboard, having not yet overtaken only Tony Gonzalez.
