Cycling: Lower Austrian Alexander Hajek Leaves Red Bull
The 23-year-old will compete for an Italian team in the future.
Lower Austrian Alexander Hajek has not received a new contract with a WorldTour cycling team after three years with Red Bull.
The 23-year-old is moving to the Italian Bardiani team, which, as a ProTeam, does not have automatic entry to major races but usually receives a wildcard for the Giro d'Italia. Hajek signs there for the 2027 season.
The Lower Austrian, who became road national champion in 2024, on his new commitment: "Becoming part of Team Bardiani means a lot to me. After a difficult 2026 season, I am grateful to the team for believing in my qualities and offering me this opportunity. I look forward to starting a new chapter in my career and facing the challenges that lie ahead."
However, Sebastian Putz will also ride for Red Bull in 2027, with the 23-year-old moving up from the development team to the professionals.
