After nine years! 2020 Vice World Champion leaves MotoGP
The Italian remains with the Ducati team and will instead switch to the Superbike World Championship.
Franco Morbidelli is leaving MotoGP!
The VR46 team officially announced this on Tuesday, ahead of the Misano race. This brings an end to the collaboration between the Ducati team and the 31-year-old Italian after the 2026 season.
Morbidelli is leaving MotoGP after nine years and will switch to the Superbike World Championship from next season. There, he will take Nicolo Bulega's place at Aruba.it Ducati, who, in turn, will take Morbidelli's place in MotoGP.
Morbidelli entered the premier class in 2018 as Moto2 World Champion. His greatest success to date was in 2020, where he was only beaten by Joan Mir and became Vice World Champion.
