The nominated players for the Ballon d'Or have been confirmed. However, the result will only be announced on October 26 in London.

Until then, players are still more or less campaigning for themselves. While Kylian Mbappe told "L'Equipe" that he votes for himself and states: "I always consider myself the best player in the world," young star Yamal remains relaxed.

"I don't think I need to campaign for myself. Everyone can think what they want. I am proud of what I have achieved. That's your job, I won't beg for anything," the Barcelona player said at a press conference.

Mbappe draws criticism

The 19-year-old also added that his work at his club and with the national team has been incredible and that he has had a great year.

The confident statement from his rival drew a lot of criticism. Christophe Dugarry, 1998 World Champion, for example, described the statement as "childish and pathetic."
