After a very inconsistent run of races so far this season, Lando Norris is back with a strong weekend just before the summer break.

Despite a botched start, the Briton ultimately celebrated his 12th career victory in Formula 1. To the race report >>>

Norris was particularly happy about the successful update package, with which McLaren was able to significantly improve performance.

Norris overjoyed: "Finally, I'm back on top"

Naturally, the joy and relief were palpable on the Briton's face after his first victory in the eleventh race.

"It was a great race. I'm happy to finally be back on top," said the 26-year-old in the "post-interview" after the race.

However, the race initially didn't go as planned for him. Norris missed his turn-in point in the second corner and had to surrender the lead to Oscar Piastri.

A real back-and-forth battle ensued between the two McLaren drivers before Norris benefited from an unfortunate incident involving Piastri and regained the lead (What happened >>>). Norris then drove confidently towards the race victory.

Will McLaren contend for more victories after the break?

Therefore, McLaren now also hopes for further strong performances after the summer break.

"The way we performed gives us confidence for the next races," Norris stated, promising further successes later in the season.

"We will still have good moments this season. If we continue to work this hard, we will keep winning!"

Whether McLaren can confirm this upward trend remains to be seen.
