NHL Star Wants to Leave Tampa Bay Lightning
The 33-year-old Russian reportedly wants to play elsewhere next season, but the club denies it.
According to some media reports, Nikita Kucherov does not want to extend his contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning and is seeking a trade. The Russian reportedly informed his teammates of this.
The current NHL MVP is in the final season of his eight-year, $76 million contract with the Lightning.
The club itself, represented by General Manager Julien BriseBois, denies the trade rumors and felt compelled to issue a statement on the situation. The Lightning has no intention of trading Kucherov.
