Capitals fall to defeat in Ljubljana

The Vienna Capitals had to concede defeat against Olimpija Ljubljana in Round 17 of the win2day ICE Hockey League, thus suffering their fourth consecutive loss.

In the Slovenian capital, the visitors took control after the first few minutes, but the hosts, seemingly out of nowhere, took a 1-0 lead through Nathanael Halbert (15.).

In the middle period, the Viennese picked up momentum, with Sam Antonitsch scoring the equalizer with a backhander (27.). On the other side, Adam Reideborn prevented the renewed deficit against Nicolai Meyer (30.).

However, in the final period, the Caps had to accept the 1-2 goal by Terrence James Brennan while shorthanded (43.). In the closing minutes, Joshua Darren Lawrence sealed the win with an empty-net goal (57.).
