Marco Rossi and Vancouver Canucks Suffer Another Decisive Loss
One day after their defeat against the New Jersey Devils, the Vorarlberg native and the Canadians also fall to the New York Rangers on the road.
Marco Rossi and the Vancouver Canucks had to concede defeat to the New York Rangers on the road in the NHL on Sunday (local time).
The game ended 6:2 in favor of the Rangers, who remain undefeated at Madison Square Garden this season. A day earlier, the Canucks had fallen 1:4 to the New Jersey Devils.
Vancouver has now lost their last four games.
Canucks Equalize Twice, Rangers Pull Away in Final Period
The start of the game was not very promising for the Canucks. Kartye scored after 27 seconds to give the Rangers the lead (1st min.), which DeBrusk was able to equalize towards the end of the first period (18th min.).
Vancouver also had a false start in the second period, as Cuylle once again put New York in front (23rd min.). A shorthanded goal from defenseman Pettersson allowed the trailing team to equalize again (37th min./SH).
However, about a minute and a half later, Kartye scored his second goal to make it 3:2 (39th min.). In the final period, Lafreniere (42nd min./PP) and Perreault (46th min.) quickly created a comfortable lead, before Cuylle also celebrated his second goal of the evening (56th min.).
Rossi Without a Point for Five Games
Rossi, playing as the second-line center, was on the ice for 15:31 minutes. The 25-year-old Vorarlberg native registered one shot on goal, delivered two hits, and won 57.1 percent of his faceoffs. He has not recorded a point in his last five games.
After seven games, the Canucks hold a record of two wins and five losses. On Tuesday night, Vancouver will face the New York Islanders.
