The Vancouver Canucks suffered their third consecutive NHL defeat on Saturday (local time) in Newark. The Canadians lost 1-4 against the New Jersey Devils.

Marco Rossi was on the ice for a total of 15:46 minutes but couldn't make a decisive impact. Vancouver initially managed an early lead through Karlsson (6th min./PP) – but after that, the game slipped away from the Canucks.

Hischier (9th min./PP) and Boqvist (17th min.) turned the game around still in the first period. Afterwards, Bratt (25th min./PP) and Hischier again (40th min./PP) sealed the game.

The Canucks therefore remain at four points after six games this season.

Red Wings Lose After Shootout

Without Marco Kasper, the Detroit Red Wings suffered their fourth loss in their fifth NHL game of the season.

The Carinthian, who is still sidelined with an upper-body injury, had to watch as Detroit lost 0-1 to the Montreal Canadiens after a penalty shootout. After six shooters on both sides, Bolduc was the only one to find the back of the net.

No Austrian was on the ice for Montreal either – David Reinbacher, as is well known, missed the cut before the NHL season started and is currently playing for AHL affiliate Laval.
