Without Kasper: Detroit Red Wings win in shootout against Oilers
The Red Wings came back from behind three times and ultimately prevailed in the shootout.
The Detroit Red Wings battled for an NHL victory against the Edmonton Oilers on Monday (local time).
Playing on the road — once again without the injured Carinthian Marco Kasper — the team equalized three times after falling behind, with goals from Viktor Arvidsson (29th minute/power play), Emmitt Finnie (45th minute), and Dylan Larkin (59th minute). With the score tied at 3-3, the game went into a scoreless overtime.
In the shootout, Lucas Raymond scored the decisive goal for the Red Wings. The Oilers failed three times in one-on-one attempts against Red Wings goalie Michal Postava.
The Los Angeles Kings handed the New York Rangers their third consecutive defeat with a 6-3 victory. The Calgary Flames secured their fourth straight victory with a 5-2 win against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
