The Pioneers Vorarlberg suffered a 3-4 defeat against FTC Budapest.
In the bottom-table clash between the penultimate and last-placed teams, the Hungarians were clearly stronger in the first period, taking the lead in the fifth minute through Silye. After ten minutes, Mihalik extended the lead following a well-executed attack.
Pioneers Still Waiting for Their First Win
The Hungarians were initially dominant in the middle period as well, but the Pioneers fought their way back into the game and equalized with two surprising goals from Lam (34th) and Murray (39th).
The final period was then relatively even, but FTC Budapest capitalized on a power play to take the lead, with Dobos putting the capital club on the winning track. Skrastins gave the Pioneers hope again (56th minute), but Savoie dashed those hopes two and a half minutes before the end.
