Another Annulment? France Wants Olise's Yellow Card Overturned
The France star was booked late in the Round of 16. Unjustly, as the "Equipe Tricolore" believes. Now they want the card annulled.
Michael Olise received a yellow card in stoppage time during the heated World Cup Round of 16 match against Paraguay.
After an altercation with Matias Galarza, the Paraguayan went down. However, TV footage shows that Olise did not touch his opponent.
The 24-year-old merely put his finger to his mouth, whereupon Galarza immediately fell to the ground, faking a hit. For this reason, France has now lodged an appeal.
Semifinal Suspension Looms
Should he receive another yellow card in the quarterfinals against Morocco, the Bayern player would be suspended for a potential semifinal.
The decision now rests with FIFA.
