Kylian Mbappé has spoken out for the first time on Instagram after the Football World Cup, addressing his fans and supporters of the French national team.

It hurts not to have won the trophy, even though he is proud to have won the Golden Boot for the most goals scored, Mbappé said.

The World Cup record scorer also thanked his teammates and outgoing coach Didier Deschamps, stating that without them, reaching the semi-finals and all the successes would never have been possible. The elimination is painful and will continue to hurt for a while, but ultimately, football is just a game.

"I will never forget"

"As a child, I dreamed of playing in a World Cup one day. Now I have played in three, won one, and had the great honor of captaining my team onto the field this year. I will never forget that," said the 27-year-old.

Finally, the Real striker also thanked all the fans who often supported the team late into the night, those who created atmosphere on site, and those who stood behind the "Equipe Tricolore" at all times.
