WAC instead of Austria! Austrian striker prospect has decided
The forward was reportedly sought by both Austria and WAC and is now moving to Lavanttal. Salzburg holds a buy-back option.
After a strong spring for FC Liefering, Phillip Verhounig was long considered a candidate for departure.
The captain of the second-division club and current ÖFB U21 national team player had only one year left on his contract.
According to "Sky" transfer insider Eric Niederseer, he is now moving to WAC in the ADMIRAL Bundesliga. The Wolfsberg club reportedly edged out Wiener Austria and Swiss champions FC Thun.
FC Red Bull Salzburg - FC Liefering's cooperation partner - also holds a buy-back option.
