Brawl! Egypt Head Coach Collapses After Wives' Dispute
Hossam Hassan continues to face turmoil even after the 2026 World Cup. An altercation has now landed him in hospital.
Egypt's national football team head coach Hossam Hassan is once again making headlines, approximately one month after the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The 60-year-old was reportedly admitted to hospital after collapsing – an incident said to have been preceded by a physical altercation between his two wives.
According to consistent media reports, the two women allegedly attacked each other with punches and objects in a hotel complex after a verbal dispute. Hotel and security staff had to intervene, and Hassan received medical attention shortly thereafter.
Caused Controversy at World Cup
At least one of those involved reportedly filed a complaint but later withdrew it.
Hassan has reportedly since filed for divorce from his "first" wife, Hoda El-Gorbawi, with whom the former football star has been married since 1994 and has four children. Since 2015, he has also been married to Dina Mustafa, with whom he has two children.
Following the World Cup round of 16 match against Argentina, Hassan had already caused a stir with allegations of fraud.
