Ahead of EL Playoff: Salzburg Skips Training in Sweden

For Red Bull Salzburg, it's about securing a good starting position for the return leg in Salzburg on Thursday (from 6:00 PM in the LIVE ticker >>>) in the Europa League Playoff against the Swedish team Mjällby AIF.

On Wednesday, Danny Röhl's squad will complete its final team training in Taxham.

The "Bullen" (Bulls) will no longer train at the opponent's stadium before the match, as reported by the "Salzburger Nachrichten".

Röhl Expects "Physically Strong and Robust Team"

The final touches will be made at home, behind closed doors. However, the team will only get to see the local conditions on Thursday. Previously, it was usually customary to hold the final training session at the match venue.

"We have to do our homework, analyze the opponent thoroughly, recover well, and bundle our strengths. We need a fresh mind and fresh legs because we will face a physically very strong, robust Swedish champion," the coach is quoted as saying.

Salzburg will definitely have to do without Frans Krätzig in the first leg, as he is suffering from a muscle injury. Whether Leandro Morgalla will be available remains to be seen (more on this >>>).
