Early Double Strike! Salzburg Wins at WSG

WSG Tirol loses 0:3 to FC Red Bull Salzburg on the third matchday of the ADMIRAL Bundesliga.

Konate and Krätzig put the Bulls ahead early, Kitano ultimately seals the away victory.

From early on, the match developed into a true festival of chances, especially from the technically superior Bulls. Baidoo (6') and Konate (10') couldn't find the back of the net yet, while on the other side, Zabransky just deflected a shot from Satin from close range over the goal (14').

Bulls' Double Strike for the Lead

A quarter of an hour had passed when Konate secured the Bulls' lead: Krätzig threaded the ball through to the striker, who powerfully struck it into the top corner. Less than two minutes later, the Tyroleans' net rattled again. Vertessen couldn't put Redzic's cross into the net, but the rebound landed right at Krätzig's feet, who gratefully tapped it in. In the 17th minute, it was 0:2 thanks to the Bulls' double strike.

Despite being behind and Salzburg's clear superiority, the Wattener team didn't give up. Hinterseer even managed to bypass the entire Bulls' defense and then hit the post (30'), and a little later, Olakigbe was through alone but was thwarted only by Salzburg goalkeeper Zawieschitzky.

Zawieschitzky's counterpart in the Tyrolean goal had significantly more to do. Salko Hamzic had to defend against countless Salzburg chances and constantly iron out sloppiness from his defensive line.

Hinterseer Fails from the Spot

Just before halftime, another bombshell: Zabransky received a shot to the upper arm in his own penalty area, referee Ciochirca pointed to the spot, and VAR confirmed the penalty for the Wattener. Captain Hinterseer himself stepped up, but Zawieschitzky saved with his foot, denying WSG a goal to reduce the deficit (45'+4).

The second half couldn't quite keep up with the first in terms of pace and excitement. Salzburg stabilized defensively and took complete control of the game, which affected the offensive department's performance.

Game Sealed

It wasn't until the 71st minute that the Bulls finally sealed the deal. Barry won the ball deep in the Tyroleans' half and sent Kitano into the penalty area, where the Japanese player beat WSG goalkeeper Hamzic to make it 0:3. With that, the match was over; Salzburg brought home the victory unchallenged.

After three games, Salzburg has seven points, placing them in second behind LASK, at least until the evening. WSG has only one point to their name and is second-to-last, ahead of Hartberg.
