Done Deal! Blau-Weiß Linz signs midfielder from Ried
The 22-year-old has already featured in the ADMIRAL Bundesliga this season. Now, he is expected to contribute to an immediate promotion in Linz.
FC Blau-Weiß Linz strengthens its squad with a midfielder from the ADMIRAL Bundesliga.
As LAOLA1 reported on Tuesday, Jonas Mayer is moving on loan from SV Ried to Blau-Weiß. The clubs made the transfer official on Wednesday.
Mayer played a total of 92 competitive matches for Ried, 32 of them in the Bundesliga. This season, the 22-year-old has only accumulated 29 minutes of action in three games so far.
"Jonas Mayer is a player we at Blau-Weiß Linz have been interested in for a very long time. I am very pleased that we have now found a good solution," says Christoph Schößwendter, Sporting Director at FC Blau-Weiß Linz.

"Despite his young age, Jonas has already played many games at a very good level and has gained a lot of important experience. The way he has played football in recent years means he won't need much time to adapt and will truly benefit our game," he adds.
Head coach Michael Köllner also looks forward to the reinforcement. "We took a lot of time to find the right player for our midfield, one who strengthens our team at the top level both in terms of quality and with a different profile," he says.
"Therefore, I am very pleased that with Jonas Mayer, we have been able to sign an extremely energetic and pressing-strong box-to-box number eight with an exceptional physical foundation," the German continues.
