UEFA sent a strong statement against Gianni Infantino's plans for the "sell-off" of the FIFA World Cup and will boycott future FIFA tournaments should investors get involved (all info>>>).

In a meeting of the 41 member associations with the CONCACAF President, the committee members, as well as the CONCACAF committee members within FIFA, the sale of shares in the FIFA World Cup to investors was discussed and ultimately rejected.

"During the meeting, members expressed great concern about the process of the proposal, the artificially short deadline, and the absence of any review or approval process by the competent FIFA bodies. Additionally, the necessity of private investments to finance existing and new FIFA programs was questioned, especially after the most profitable FIFA World Cup in history," according to a statement.
