Salzburg's Europa League qualifying opponent revealed
The Bulls will face a team that participated in last year's Champions League in the third round.
For FC Salzburg, the third qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League will take them to Cyprus.
FC Pafos advanced after a 4-0 home victory in extra time against Hajduk Split. The first leg saw the Croatians win 2-0, but the Cypriots managed to equalize the deficit in the second leg within regular time.
Guga (40') and Goldar (90'+1) were responsible for this. Shortly after the start of extra time, Biel (93') put the previous year's Champions League participant ahead, with Correia (117') securing the decision.
First leg in Salzburg
Pafos crowned themselves champions of the Cyprus League in 2024/25 and subsequently qualified for the league phase of the Champions League.
The team's star is the now 39-year-old Brazilian David Luiz, who has played for Chelsea, Arsenal, and Paris Saint-Germain during his career.
The first leg will take place next Thursday in Salzburg, with kick-off at 7:00 PM. The second leg will be held the following week on August 13 in Cyprus. Pafos plays its European home matches in Limassol.
