Who will lead FC Red Bull Salzburg onto the field as captain this season?

Following numerous transfers this summer – including the departures of captains Alex Schlager and Mads Bidstrup – this question remains unresolved.

"I'm still keeping my options open a bit. It's also possible that there will be two captains," explained head coach Danny Röhl at the press conference.

Veratschnig to Wear Armband Provisionally

What is clear, however, is who will be Salzburg's captain in the Bundesliga opener against Hartberg: Nikolas Veratschnig. The 23-year-old new signing already wore the armband in the Cup against Oberwart.

The former Mainz player made a good impression on Röhl: "I am very happy with Niki; he is a winner of the pre-season and gives a lot to the team."

Another New Signing the Second Candidate?

According to "Krone", Haris Tabakovic is the second candidate for the captaincy. The Bosnian international is also expected to be in the squad for the first time on Saturday (from 7:30 PM in the LIVE ticker >>>).
