Thanks to SK Rapid's dominant victory yesterday, Austria temporarily overtakes Scotland in the UEFA Five-Year Ranking.

The win against Santa Coloma brings 0.200 points in the ranking. Before Austria Wien's return leg against Liepaja on Thursday evening, all Austrian representatives have collected 1.000 points for the ranking through five victories. They now hold 24.450 points, thus improving to 19th place.

Sturm Graz has played a particularly significant role in this, having been able to collect valuable points in their direct duel against Scottish representative Heart of Midlothian.

A Close Duel

However, one should not rejoice too soon. Despite the Hearts' defeat, the Scots, just like Austria, still have five teams represented in the European Cup. Hibernian FC and Motherwell FC are considered favorites tonight in the second round of the Conference League against KF Malisheva from Kosovo and HB Tórshavn from the Faroe Islands, respectively.

The gap to 18th place in the UEFA Five-Year Ranking is 0.800 points. The Swedes, who still have four teams represented in international competitions, are ranked there.
