For a long time, everything pointed to this marking the end of Ronaldo's international career. However, a turnaround could now be on the horizon.
Federation President Pedro Proenca is seemingly not giving up hope yet. According to "Marca" and "Correio de Manha", the Portugal boss plans to arrange a meeting between Ronaldo and head coach Jorge Jesus after the Nations League match against Norway.
According to the reports, the coach has agreed to the meeting. Ronaldo's stance on the matter, however, remains unknown.
