Future in the national team? Modric makes a decision
The soon-to-be 41-year-old has now made 202 international appearances for Croatia.
In four days, Luka Modric celebrates his 41st birthday.
However, the world-class midfielder is far from done. He recently extended his contract with AC Milan for another year, and there is now certainty about his future in the Croatian national team as well.
As reported by the Croatian Football Federation itself on Saturday, Modric will be available for the "Kockasti" in the upcoming Nations League matches against the Czech Republic, Spain, and England.
"Luka's decision naturally makes me extremely happy; we all know what he gives Croatia - on and off the field. I look forward to working with him again after 14 years," explained new head coach Slaven Bilic, who previously managed Croatia from 2006 to 2012.
Modric now stands at 202 international appearances. Among active national team players, only Cristiano Ronaldo has more, with 233 caps for Portugal.
