Swift action! LASK's B-team comfortably into the next round

Defending champions LASK show no weakness whatsoever in Round 2 of the UNIQA ÖFB Cup.

With a heavily rotated squad, the Linz side clearly defeat Deutschlandsberger SC 6-1.

Lang shines in his hometown

The brilliantly playing Christoph Lang opens the scoring early. Against the club from his hometown, the Styrian taps in for 1-0 after ten minutes.

A little later, Lang shows selflessness, setting up Nael Kane alone in front of goal – the Canadian only has to tap in for 2-0 (15').

Krystof Danek heads in for 3-0 shortly thereafter (22'), Florian Flecker extends the lead to 4-0 before the break (37'). Kane hits the crossbar attempting to make it 5-0 (45').

Kane misses hat-trick

Immediately after the break, Deutschlandsberg are awarded a penalty after a foul by youngster Manoel Verhaeghe. Tobias Schützenauer, actually the number two in Linz, manages to save Marco Fuchshofer's penalty, but Christian Degen scores on the rebound (48').

LASK, however, soon adds another: Lang once again sets up Kane, and the Canadian secures his brace – 5-1 (56').

After just over an hour, Sascha Horvath, among others, is substituted on for LASK – and the captain immediately makes it 6-1 after a good run (67').

Kane has the hat-trick within his grasp in the final minutes but fails from the penalty spot. The score remains 6-1.
