A special international match period awaits Franco Foda with Kosovo. For the first time, they will compete in the UEFA Nations League. After a home game against Ireland, they will face his former team, Austria, at the end of September.
Shortly before the match in Vienna, the Sturm legend seems to have pulled off a coup. As announced by the Kosovar Ambassador to Germany and Denmark, Dr. Faruk Ajeti, via social media, Bayern gem Erblin Osmani (17) will play for Kosovo in the future.
Has the decision already been made?
"It is a special honour that I was able to hand over the Republic's passport to our Bayern talent Erblin Osmani today and to announce great news for Kosovar football: Erblin will play for Kosovo!", Ajeti wrote last Friday.
According to "Bild," however, the decision has not yet been made. Kosovo has reportedly invited the youngster, according to "transfermarkt."
Already featured for professionals
Osmani is considered a great talent at FC Bayern. In March, he already made his professional debut in the German Bundesliga against Union Berlin (4:0) with three minutes of playing time.
The defensive midfielder has already played nine games for DFB youth teams. Now, the association switch could follow. Franco Foda would thus persuade a German compatriot to join Kosovo.
