CONCACAF Nations League: Head Coach Seeks Goalkeeper via Social Media
The former national team player issued a call on social media to find a possibly undiscovered candidate.
Small footballing nations often provide unusual stories, as is the case with the Caribbean island nation of Dominica.
Currently, on the island of approximately 65,000 inhabitants, there are only two fit goalkeepers available. Therefore, former national team player and current head coach Justin Fevrier has now published an appeal on "X".
Two Keepers, One Cap
"Football Twitter, I urgently need help. Due to an unforeseen injury, a replacement is urgently needed," he writes. Specifically, he is looking for a goalkeeper with "Dominican parents."
Shortly before the upcoming four CONCACAF Nations League matches, Fevrier only has two keepers available: Donte Newton and Dwight Eloi. Together, they have one international cap, earned by Newton, while Eloi is still awaiting his debut.
According to Fevrier, the search focused on Dominican individuals in England, Dominica's former colonial power.
