Actually, this season began very favorably for Daniel Maldini, the son of Milan legend Paolo. In the last two games, he scored the winning goal for Cagliari Calcio in each.

Now, far more negative headlines loom. According to "Gazzetta dello Sport," the 24-year-old reportedly tested positive for drug use in a preliminary test following a car accident on Sunday. Additionally, alcohol intoxication was detected.

Maldini Reportedly Also Intoxicated

According to the report, Maldini was driving his Porsche Carrera in Milan. He reportedly failed to yield to a VW Golf carrying a man and a woman, causing an accident in which, fortunately, no one was injured.

Maldini's blood alcohol level was reportedly found to be 0.91 mg/l (first test) and 0.89 mg/l (second test). However, only 0.5 mg/l is permitted in Italy.

Regarding the positive preliminary drug test, the full results from the toxicological examination are still pending. His club, Cagliari Calcio, has not yet commented on the incident.
