Havertz and Brobbey Out, Nmecha Scores Opener
After approximately half an hour, Germany suffered its second injury-related withdrawal: Kai Havertz had to leave the field. Frankfurt's Younes Ebnoutalib made his DFB debut.
Shortly after, the DFB squad took the lead: Felix Nmecha tapped in for 1-0 (32'). The Dutch protested, as Brobbey went down before the goal and the Germans played on. However, the goal stood. Brobbey eventually also had to be substituted (35').
Before the break, Adeyemi missed the chance for 2-0 after a low cross from Nathanial Brown (38'). At the other end, "Oranje" could not convert a Ter Stegen mispass into an equalizer (42').

In the second half, Xavi's squad clearly dictated play. Shortly after the hour mark, the ball ended up in the German goal after a scramble, but the referee had already whistled the play dead (62').
Substitute Alkmaar striker Mexx Meerdink, making his debut, then had the equalizer on his foot. However, he couldn't slide the ball over the line (66'). Then, from a tight angle, Meerdink only hit Ter Stegen or the outside of the post (73').
The Dutch were also more prominent in the final phase. Ter Stegen prevented the equalizer with a good save (89'). In stoppage time, the hosts finally got their 1-1 equalizer. Gakpo spectacularly converted a cross with a volley (90'+2).
