Former Salzburg Coach Linked to Klopp Succession at Red Bull
The 59-year-old German currently holds a similar position in the Japanese J1 League. Two other well-known names are also considered candidates.
It's considered an open secret that Jürgen Klopp will vacate his position as Global Sports Director at Red Bull to take over as Germany's national team coach.
Red Bull also firmly expects the 59-year-old German to depart, which is why the search for a successor is reportedly already underway.
Global Sports Director in Japan
According to "Sport Bild", former Salzburg coach Roger Schmidt is among the candidates. The 59-year-old German currently holds the position of Global Sports Director in Japan's J1 League.
However, Markus Krösche, Eintracht Frankfurt's Sporting Director, is reportedly the top candidate. According to "Sport Bild", he is "primarily" a candidate.
The tabloid also links Thierry Henry, a dazzling personality in world football, with the position. The French World and European champion is familiar with the RB cosmos from his time in New York.
