Former Salzburg player receives special praise from coach and press

With his goal for the 4-2 final score, Karim Adeyemi rounded off an eventful league match against UD Levante.

Against the hosts' advanced defensive line, the 24-year-old German had some fun in stoppage time: First, he made ÖFB legionnaire Ifeanyi Ndukwe look old with a body feint, then in the box, he also let opponent Aïssa Mandi slide into thin air before coolly slotting it home.

Special praise from the coach: "The goal was perfect"

When asked about his compatriot's dream solo run, Barca coach Hansi Flick raved at the press conference after the game: "The goal was perfect. In this situation, you can see that he brings something special." The goal against UD Levante was his second in LaLiga for Barca; overall, the new signing has already scored three times for the Catalans - which makes for an average of one goal every 67 minutes.

After a difficult spell at Borussia Dortmund, he now seems to be truly flourishing again at FC Barcelona. Before his time at BVB, the winger was active for FC Red Bull Salzburg for about 2.5 years.

Adeyemi's current strong run of form, having already worked with him at the German national team, is not necessarily surprising for Hansi Flick: "If he is focused, he is a fantastic player. I have known him for many years and know what he can give us."

The Spanish press also had words of praise. Adeyemi delivered precisely at the moment Barca needed him most, stated "AS": "The German winger thereby once again confirmed his importance as a super-sub and offensive weapon."
