New coach for Austrian international: Second-tier club close to surprise coup
The former Bayern striker was reportedly on the verge of his first international coaching role. Now a German second-tier club is stepping in.

The poor start is now likely to lead to personnel consequences. According to sources close to the club, sporting director Jonas Boldt has withdrawn his support for coach Christian Titz following the defeat against 1. FC Nürnberg.
Speaking to "Bild", he stated meaningfully that he had set out "to change things. We need to make sure we all pull in the same direction."
Hannover to finalize deal with Wagner
Things are now expected to move very quickly. Christian Titz's dismissal is reportedly already decided, and Sandro Wagner is ready to take over as his successor. This comes from a report by "Bild".
Until recently, Wagner was considered a top candidate for the vacant coaching position at FC Basel, but now much indicates that he will remain in Germany.
Club chairman Martin Kind has reportedly already given the green light, and the former national striker is expected to lead his first training session tomorrow, Tuesday.
With Benedikt Pichler, Wagner would also coach an Austrian international at Hannover 96.
