The Catalans have secured their captain long-term. The Brazilian has been playing for Barcelona since 2022.

As announced on Thursday, the Brazilian international has extended his contract, originally running until 2028, early through to 2030.
The 29-year-old has been playing for the Catalans since 2022, but did not hit the ground running immediately. At one point, an exit was even on the cards.
Flourished under Flick
Only with the appointment of Hansi Flick as head coach did Raphinha flourish, becoming captain and currently leading the LaLiga goalscoring charts with 15 goals in ten games this season.
A phone call with the German had prevented a departure from Barcelona. "Sometimes a few words change everything. I felt trust again; he gave me the confidence to play my football," Raphinha said at the time.
