English centre-back Conor Coady has announced his retirement from professional football.

The 33-year-old announced his decision on Friday via social media.

"I lived the dream. For that I am forever grateful – thank you," wrote Coady, who earned ten caps for the England national team during his career and was part of both the Euro 2021 and 2022 World Cup squads.

Coady began his career as a Liverpool FC player, making two first-team appearances. He enjoyed his most successful spell at Wolverhampton (2015-2023).

Last season he played in the Championship for AFC Wrexham, but had been without a club since August.
