First! Slovaks Celebrate Ex-Rapid Coach Robert Klauß

Five wins and one draw in six games - that's the league record of ex-Rapid coach Robert Klauß at his new club DAC 1904 Dunajska Streda in Slovakia.

His latest success: In the league, they defeated Slovan Bratislava, led by head coach Yaya Toure, 2-0.

"Our victory was deserved. In such games, where high-level teams meet, small things, details, or the right moment in the game are crucial. These factors spoke for us today," Klauß said happily after the match.

Praise from Ex-Barca Star Toure

Praise came from the opponent, Yaya Toure remarked: "We must not forget that we faced an opponent who played very well."

The Slovak media are also full of praise. Particularly impressive are the strong performances after a devastating defeat against Twente in the UEFA Conference League qualification (0-6).

Captain Reports on Klauß

Ahead of the game, captain Filip Blazek told "sport.sk": "The biggest difference is probably that as a team, we try to play more directly. Under coach Fodrek, the focus was more on ball possession, dominance, and gradually creating chances. Under coach Klauß, it's more about intensity, pressing, vertical passes, and a general acceleration of the game."

He describes the ex-Rapid coach as detail-oriented. "Since we play in the German school, pressing comes first. Everyone has to know when to press so that the interplay works as a whole – that's what we currently value most. Whether after training or after games: We show each other good actions via video that we want to repeat, but above all, we learn from mistakes," said the captain.

Can Laugh at Himself

As a person, the German is also well-received. "When the mood in the locker room is good, he can crack jokes, smile and fool around with us – even if he sometimes – unintentionally, of course – gets a bit of a knock (laughs). He can laugh about it, but when it comes to serious, fundamental matters, he is very demanding," said Blazek.

A graphic by "Football Meets Data" on "X" even makes Klauß's team the title favorite, describing the season with 42 percent. Their toughest competitor, Slovan Bratislava with Austrian international Kevin Wimmer, is currently only fourth, four points behind.
