His country's most-capped player is joining Colombian record champions Atletico Nacional with immediate effect.
According to consistent reports from several media outlets, James recently had several offers from Europe but has now decided on his homeland.
Back Home After 18 Years
Thus, the national hero returns to his birth country after 18 years abroad.
James made his breakthrough at Envigado FC as a 15-year-old in 2006. Two years later, the then-prodigy was signed by Argentine club CA Banfield before James also became a star in Europe, making his mark at Porto, Monaco, and Real Madrid.
James most recently played in the MLS for Minnesota United. The 35-year-old had been without a club since July.
