Karim Benzema is expected to leave Al-Hilal again after just half a year. Fabrizio Romano reports this on "X".

A final decision regarding his future has not yet been made, however; a career end or a move to another Saudi club are possibilities. A return to Europe, however, is not an option.

The 38-year-old, who caused a sensation for years with Real Madrid and rose to become the fourth-highest goal scorer in Champions League history, had moved to Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia in 2023. In this year's winter transfer window, he moved on to Al-Hilal.

There, he contributed ten goals and five assists in 16 games. Now, however, this era is reportedly already over.

Replacement comes from the Premier League

Al-Hilal already reacted to the possible departure on Sunday and introduced English international Ollie Watkins as a new striker. The 30-year-old signs with the Saudi vice-champion; a transfer fee of 58 million Euros is reportedly going to Aston Villa, which could increase to 60 million with bonus payments.

For the Birmingham team, Watkins was by far the most dangerous goal scorer in recent seasons and was significantly involved, among other things, in Aston Villa winning the Europa League last season.
