New coach for Alaba? Ex-Milan coach rumored
The coach is increasingly under pressure in Udine; the Vienna-born manager could soon be sacked.
ÖFB captain David Alaba only moved to Udinese Calcio in September. After his starting eleven debut at the weekend, the Viennese was sharply criticized by the media.
He also reportedly injured his calf. Head coach Kosta Runjaic is also under pressure. The Vienna-born coach lost the last five games; they are currently 16th in the table with four points from seven games. According to "TuttoMercato", the club is considering his dismissal.
Former Garics coach rumored.
According to the report, the club has already contacted Stefan Pioli as a possible successor. The 60-year-old recently coached Fiorentina and Al Nassr. In 2022, he became Italian champion with Milan.
Before that, he worked for Inter Milan, Lazio Rome, and Bologna, among others. At Bologna, he coached Austrian György Garics between 2011 and 2014.
Runjaic is reportedly getting one more chance in the upcoming weekend's game against AC Milan. If there's another defeat, time will slowly run out.
