Ex-Rapid star Mert Müldür poised for top Serie A move
A top club from Italy is targeting the Turkish international who rose through the ranks at Rapid.
Mert Müldür moved from SK Rapid to Sassuolo in Serie A in 2019. In 2023, the Turkish international then moved to Fenerbahce.
Now, the 27-year-old could return to Italy, as, according to "Tuttomercato Roma", AS Roma, of all clubs, is interested in the Vienna-born player.
Currently, the Turks are preparing for the return leg against Gornik Zabrze in the CL qualifiers (first leg: 1-0 victory). If they overcome this hurdle, Sturm Graz (first leg: 4-0 victory against Hearts) would likely await in the 3rd round.
Roma Plays in CL
Müldür has only one year left on his contract on the Bosphorus and a market value of seven million euros. In Rome, Champions League football would definitely await the right-back, as the capital club finished third last season.
Müldür's cousin, Mirhat Müldür, recently made the step into professional football. The 19-year-old moved from Vienna city league club 1. Simmeringer SC to Turkish third-division side Iskenderunspor.
