Brighton: Svoboda Teammate Retires from DFB Team
The midfielder announced the end of his international career live on TV.
The DFB team will have to do without a World Cup participant in the future.
Pascal Groß will no longer represent Black, Red and Gold. The 35-year-old, a Premier League teammate of Austrian international Michael Svoboda at Brighton & Hove Albion, announced this over the weekend.

However, he didn't do so, as most do today, via social media. After all, Groß is not active on any such platform. "For me, that was it after the World Cup," he said on "Sky" in an interview following Brighton's sensational 3-0 victory over Arsenal, to which he also contributed a goal.
He said it was time to make way for a new generation, to whom he wished "only the best". He still enjoys playing football, but "there's a transition happening in Germany - and that's a good thing. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for them," said Groß.
In his career, the late bloomer - who only debuted at 32 - played 19 international matches (one goal). His last therefore remains the one at the World Cup, when he was substituted on in the 73rd minute during the 1-2 defeat against Ecuador.
