The Austrian legionnaires showcased their assist-providing prowess on Sunday afternoon in the first round of the DFB-Pokal.

Phillipp Mwene celebrated a dominant 9-0 thrashing with 1. FSV Mainz 05 against Oberliga side VfB Krieschow. The Austrian played the full 90 minutes and already had a decisive hand in the clear victory in the first half.

Mwene with two assists

Philipp Tietz quickly put the game beyond doubt with a perfect hat-trick between the 19th and 32nd minute. Mwene was the assist-provider for the first and third goals.

The ÖFB international delivered pinpoint crosses into the box twice, and Tietz finished both with headers. Mainz already took a 5-0 lead into halftime and maintained their dominance after the break.

Stefan Posch, meanwhile, was absent from the Mainz squad due to a training deficit.

Stöger also delivers an assist

Kevin Stöger also celebrated a clear victory with Borussia Mönchengladbach. The "Foals" prevailed 5-0 against Regionalliga side TSV Schott Mainz.

Stöger set up the goal to make it 2-0. The Austrian delicately lifted the ball into the penalty area, where Daiki Hashioka scored with a looping header (25').

Stöger's work was done after 70 minutes.

Entrup with two assists in starting XI debut

The Austrian showdown between Eintracht Braunschweig (Maximilian Entrup) and Union Berlin (Leopold Querfeld/Christopher Trimmel) was more thrilling. The Berliners ultimately prevailed 4-2.

However, Braunschweig took the lead in the eleventh minute. Maximilian Entrup, making his first start for his new club, set up Max Marie.

Union equalised through Zeno van den Bosch (31'), but Entrup and Marie struck again after the break. After a one-two with the ÖFB legionnaire, Marie scored for the second time (54').

Tom Rothe equalised for Union with a header (63'), before substitute and former LASK striker Marin Ljubicic turned the game around with a brace (72'/90+4').

Entrup was substituted one minute after Ljubicic's first goal. On the other side, Union's defensive leader Leopold Querfeld played the full match.

Former ÖFB international Christopher Trimmel came on for the Berliners in the 74th minute. Braunschweig's coaching staff also includes former ÖFB assistant coach Lars Kornetka on the sideline.

Ahmet Muhamedbegovic was substituted in during the 65th minute of Dynamo Dresden's emphatic 6-0 away victory at Westfalia Rhynern.
