Sabitzer Rival! All Clear Between BVB and Wanner's Teammate
A seasoned "Oranje" player is moving to Dortmund. Marcel Sabitzer's chances for playing time could dwindle further.
Borussia Dortmund will secure the services of Joey Veerman.
After signing Greek player Giannis Konstantelias, BVB has now acquired the Dutchman (27) from PSV Eindhoven.
The midfield all-rounder is said to have passed the obligatory medical check and will sign a contract with the Westphalians running until 2031.
The transfer fee is reportedly 20 million Euros. "Sky" reports this.
Bad News for Sabitzer?
Veerman, who has already made 16 appearances for the Dutch senior national team, has played for the top Dutch club since January 2022.
The right-footed player made 198 appearances for PSV, scoring 31 goals and providing 67 assists.
For Marcel Sabitzer (32), the new signing could mean a worse starting position ahead of the season opener.
The Austrian is not given great chances for a regular spot; even a departure in the current transfer summer is said to be an option.
Sabitzer's contract expires next summer, and he is one of BVB's absolute top earners.
