Ex-Salzburg Boss with Transfer Ultimatum to Two Gladbach Stars

In Borussia Mönchengladbach's DFB-Pokal opener against TSV Schott Mainz (5-0), two star players, Florian Neuhaus (29) and Joe Scally (23), were missing from the "Foals'" squad.

Both players reportedly have expensive contracts, and sporting director Rouven Schröder apparently wants to get rid of them.

Will there be movement now?

"They remain fully entitled licensed players, and we respect their contracts. But they both have contracts until 2027 and must now naturally ask themselves: How do I position myself? In their place, I would certainly be dissatisfied. Let's see if there is any movement now," the former Salzburg boss is quoted by "Bild".

The message is clear, Schröder wants to push both players towards an exit. Coach Eugen Polanski isn't completely closing the door. "The squad selection for Mainz was related to the strategy for this specific game. It could look different again on Saturday in Leipzig," said the head coach.
