RB Leipzig is expected to present a new centre-back in Maxime Estève shortly.

According to consistent reports from Fabrizio Romano and "Sky", the "Red Bulls" have agreed on a transfer with both the player and FC Burnley.

Accordingly, a base transfer fee of 25 million euros for the 24-year-old Frenchman was negotiated. With additional bonus payments, the sum could rise to up to 32 million euros.

Defender likely to leave Leipzig

Originally, Leipzig had reportedly planned to sell one of their own defenders before finalizing Estève's deal – however, due to the uncertain market situation, they now wanted to complete the transfer early.

Castello Lukeba and El Chadaille Bitshiabu, however, are still considered transfer candidates in Leipzig.

Estève moved from Montpellier to Burnley in 2024 and has since made 98 appearances for the "Clarets". After Burnley's relegation from the Premier League, he was looking for a new challenge.
