After the defeat against Bodø/Glimt, the BVB coach wants to see a reaction from his team.
Just a few days after the 0-1 defeat against Bodø/Glimt in the UEFA Champions League, BVB coach Niko Kovac wants to see a reaction from his team in the league clash with Union Berlin (Saturday, 3:30 PM in the LIVE ticker >>>).
After CL Slip-up: BVB Coach Kovac Criticizes Rotation Players >>>
"The decisive factor in football is attitude," said the Croatian the day before the duel with the Köpenickers. His team expects "just as much intensity, aggression, and tackles that we will have to make."
"If you don't bring that, you won't get far in the Champions League"
The attitude he mentioned was precisely what was missing in Norway. The Norwegians were superior to the Germans in many aspects, as Kovac lists: "The opponent was more tenacious, faster, stronger in duels, more aggressive, more intense than us."
He continued: "If you don't bring that, you won't get far in the Champions League." Borussia Dortmund must also push itself to its limits against Union.
Captain Nico Schlotterbeck, who was not in action against Bodø due to load management, is back in the squad.
