Confirmed! Gazibegovic leaves Köln again on loan
After his loan spell at Sturm Graz, the Salzburg native will not play in Germany next season either, but will gain playing time in Poland.
Jusuf Gazibegovic will not play for 1. FC Köln next season!
The Bosnian international will be loaned to Polish first-division club Widzew Lodz for the upcoming season.
"We informed Gazi early and transparently that he will not play a role in our sporting plans for the upcoming season. It was important for us to give him this clarity as early as possible so that he and his agent can work out the best possible solution for his future," said managing director Thomas Kessler, as quoted by the club.
"Would have liked an opportunity"
The player himself also spoke out: "Of course, I would have liked to get an opportunity at FC to prove myself again. Unfortunately, those responsible decided differently. Now I am happy to have found a club in Widzew Lodz where I get the chance to prove myself from the start of the season with the clear goal of becoming a regular starter again."
Gazibegovic moved from Graz to Köln in 2025, where he made eleven appearances in the German second division and achieved promotion back to the top flight with the team.
Most recently, the 26-year-old right-back again played for Sturm Graz after a loan spell starting in the second half of the season, making eleven Bundesliga appearances there.
