Former International Grbic set for France return
Two clubs express concrete interest in the Austrian.
Adrian Grbic could return to France.
According to reports from the French website "footmercato", second-division club EA Guingamp is said to have submitted a concrete offer for the 30-year-old striker. Additionally, traditional club FC Nantes, also playing in Ligue 2, is said to have expressed interest.
Currently, the Vienna native is still under contract with FC Luzern in Switzerland. Last season, he scored eleven goals in 30 appearances across all competitions. This season, he has not yet been part of the squad.
His contract by Lake Lucerne runs until 2027.
Became an International in France
For Grbic, a transfer to France would be a return to the country where he had the most successful period of his career.
In the 2019/20 season, he scored 17 goals for Clermont Foot, leading them to promotion to Ligue 1. This was followed by a multi-million euro move to FC Lorient, where his career, however, somewhat stalled.
At that time, Grbic also developed into an Austrian international. He made a total of ten appearances for the ÖFB team, scoring four goals. He played his last game for Austria in 2021.
