Departure? Bacher's Club Lyon Facing Manager Change

A coaching change is brewing at Olympique Lyon.

Paulo Fonseca is reportedly on the verge of departing the club of Austrian international Felix Bacher. As recently as Sunday, the Austrian international's team won in Ligue 1.

As reported by "Le Parisien" and Fabrizio Romano, among others, Sporting Lisbon has reached an agreement with the Portuguese coach.

Sporting Already Nine Points Behind Porto

Fonseca is expected to sign a contract in the coming days and replace Rui Borges with immediate effect in Lisbon. In recent weeks, the gap to dominant FC Porto has become too large, which is why a change is desired in the coaching position.

As a result, Bacher would lose his current head coach at Olympique Lyon. Fonseca had been in office since January 2025. An official confirmation of the move is still pending.
